Donating to Habitat for Humanity September 4, 2015 IOMAXIS has announced a significant donation to Greater Fredericksburg Habitat for Humanity (GFHFH). This donation is in support of the inaugural home for Veterans Build, which builds homes and when completed, sells them with a zero-percent mortgage to local veterans. IOMAXIS has made this generous donation in response to the story that was recently published in the Free Lance-Star. After the story went to print, Habitat received a call from Brad Buhr, CEO of IOMAXIS, expressing the interest to get involved in helping veteran families. After learning more about the Veterans Build program and Habitat for Humanity, Mr. Buhr agreed to be the largest sponsor of the Veterans Build to date. Buhr is incredibly humbled to be part of the Veterans Build, as he is a very active donor in the community. Buhr wants to challenge other defense contractors in the area to help build homes for veteran families before November 11, when GFHFH plans to break ground on the new home. “We are merely giving the money, but the real work that this organization does to make homeownership happen is so honorable. We just want to help support Habitat in this mission and hope others are challenged to invest in our veterans,” said Buhr. Thanks to generous donors like IOMAXIS, the Veterans Build Task Force is well on their way to reaching their goal.
